Day 1 TIRANE – WELCOME

Picking you up from the airport and transferring at the hotel in Tirana. After that the welcoming dinner to get familiar with the fellow travelers and the tour guide.

Day 2 – TIRANA MAIN ATTRACTIONS AND DEPART TO SHKODER

After breakfast we have so many to see, at first we will visit the Bunk’Art, a museum exhibition near Tirana, which is located inside the former command in wartime, or anti-nuclear bunker of the communist dictatorship.

After that our upcoming visit will be at the National museum, we must not miss the biggest museum of Albania, to learn and list some facts about its history and traditions.
On our half day we will go towards Shkodra.

Day 3 – SHKODRA, A BEAUTIFUL OLD CITY

This day we will go toward north, to visit city Shkoder. Visiting Shkodra means to give to oneself the privilege to touch the ancient history of Albania. Located in a wide field, about thirty miles as the crow flies from the sea. Shkodra is closely associated with water: the great lake at the southwest, the Drini river that licks at East, Kiri river among mountains, Buna river to the south. Our first visit will take place at Rozafa Castle, a legend relates to the castle, it talks about human sacrifice made at the time of it construction.
In our plans is the visit at the Archaeological Museum, where are preserved a traditional architecture of the houses of nineteenth in Shkodra.
Of course, a passage by the largest lake in Europe, Lake Shkodra and tasting the traditional food and the fish Krap.
We will be accommodated in the center of Shkodra and during the evening we will have a walk in the famous foot-way in the city center

Day 4 – DURRES, TAVERN OF THE ADRIATIC

In this day we will head to Durres, Durres is the city that cannot be envisioned without the sea. Mythology evidences show that Durres was born of Poseidon love. So claims the ancient history of the city establishment, where Corinth fought against Corcyra, where Caesar faced Pompey.
First we will visit the Archaeological Museum, the exhibition is organized into three wards according to historical periods. The first Hall begins with the prehistoric finds in the window of the city and its surroundings areas. Then comes the Illyrian history of the town archaic, classical periods. The Middle Ages section includes 15 centuries from v-xv and closes with the Turkish period.Transferring to the hotel and at the evening we will walk at the Taulantia footway.

Day 5 – BERAT, A UNESCO HERITAGE.

After breakfast our upcoming city is Berat, the city of “one over one window”. Part of the UNESCO and considered as one of the oldest cities in Europe. our first visit will be at the old neighborhood Mangalem, there is the real living architecture of this city.
After being transferred to the hotel and have a rest and lunch we will have possibility to go at the Castle, an old big castle. It is built on a rocky hill on the left bank of the river Osum and is accessible only from the south. It’s situated at an altitude of 214 meters.

Day 6 RAFTING IN THE OSUMI CANYONS

A marvelous adventure in a 3 hours rafting through the Canyons. From Berat till the starting point we will go with car, and we will start rafting. Adrenalin, beautiful experience and strong emotions.
After it we will go at the hotel to rest and prepare for the next day

Day 7 APOLLONIA,THE ARDENICA MONASTERY AND VLORA

After breakfast in our way to Vlora we will visit the Ardenica Monastery, right over the hill when entering to Fier, the monastery is famous as the place where, in 1451, was celebrated the marriage of Skanderbeg, the national hero of Albania.
Then we will head towards the 7th BC ancient town of Apollonia, nowdays is one of the biggest archaeological parks in Albania. Arriving to the “City of the flag” transferring to hotel, near the sea.

Day 8 VLORA AND THE FASCINATING BAYS AND BEACHES

Well to Vlora you will forget everything, except satisfaction. Our adventure begins at the moment we sit in our speedboat and sail from the port till the Haxhi Ali cave, one of the biggest sea caves in the Balkans. From the cave we continue our trip to the mysterious Sazani island. An incognito for many and many years, because of its military importance.
After this visit we will go back to Vlora, and head to Dhermi crossing through the Llofgara National Park, where we will taste a tradtitional food – yogurt with honey and nuts. While descending Llogara optionally you can choose paragliding from Llogara to Palase beach.
At the ending day we will be accommodated in our hotel in Dhermi village/beach, a famous relaxing beach in south.

Day 9 GRAME, ST. ANDREA AND GJIPE

Well to Vlora you will forget everything, except satisfaction. Our adventure begins at the moment we sit in our speedboat and sail from the port till the Haxhi Ali cave, one of the biggest sea caves in the Balkans. From the cave we continue our trip to the mysterious Sazani island. An incognito for many and many years, because of its military importance.
After this visit we will go back to Vlora, and head to Dhermi crossing through the Llofgara National Park, where we will taste a tradtitional food – yogurt with honey and nuts. While descending Llogara optionally you can choose paragliding from Llogara to Palase beach.
At the ending day we will be accommodated in our hotel in village/beach, a famous relaxing beach in south.

Day 10 HIMARA AND SARANDA

This day our road will be in a beautiful sightseeing, passing through small villages, olive forests and with the fresh air that comes from the sea. In Himara we will visit the old castle, which has a full view over the sea.
During our way we will also visit the castle of Ali Pashe Tepelena at Porto Palermo, an important castle, built to lookout the shoreline.
Our destination is Saranda, this is an ancient city which has been a port all the time. Located in the blue Ionian bay, sits opposite Corfu. In antiquity Saranda was named Onhezem and was part of a wharf Phoenic. The three cities of Butrint, Phoenic and Onhezmi belonged to the Illyrian region of Kaonia.
Optionally during the evening we could go at the castle or have a walk at the passage and then a traditional dinner near the sea.

Day 11 THE AZURE BEACHES OF KAKOME AND KROREZ

Starting from Saranda at the port and we will come across the hole shoreline of Saranda, first we will go at Kakome bay stay there and then most of the time we will spend at Krorez bay, this bay can be accessible only by boat. These two beautiful bays are not so known but have the sense of the rare mysterious beaches.
After these lazy spoiling day we’ll come back to the hotel and enjoy our rest of the day in SARNADA.

Day 12 THE ANCIENT CITY OF BUTRINT

Butrinti National Park is the most important cultural and natural object of Albania. Situated 18 km in south of the Saranda city, it has an area of 2500 km2 and consists of forest, lake and ancient city.
The former ancient city of Butrint, use to stretch over an area of 16 hectares within the city walls and the other 24 ha, along the Vrina field. It was founded in the 7th century BC.
After that comes the beautiful small town next to the Ionian seashores. Situated 15 km in the south of Saranda. The most impressive monument of the nature, is the group of the four islands, the closest one is 60 meters from shore . Our way after this goes towards the “Stone city of Gjirokastra”.
We will be accommodated in the old part of the city, a traditional hotel and for dinner traditional again.

Day 13 THE OLD CITY, PART OF THE UNESCO

Gjirokastra is part of the world heritage, and is known as the “Stone City”, we will visit the the castle, which dominates the town and overlooks the strategically important route along the river valley. It is open to visitors and contains a military museum featuring captured artillery and memorabilia of the Communist resistance against German occupation, as well as a captured United States Air Force plane to commemorate the Communist regime’s struggle against the “imperialist” western powers.
Then we will have the come back drive to Tirana.

Day 14 TIRANA – GOODBYE

Getting you to the airport and wishing a nice flight back home.

Level of the tour: Light – Challenging These tours are physically challenging, and demand you to be in excellent physical shape. The paths are not always in the best of conditions and markings can be scarce. Day-treks may have big ascents and descents.

What to bring Breathable light-weight waterproof gear (goretex, sympatex, etc), fleece/wool pullovers, wind-stopper jacket, gloves, small backpack with rain coverage, cap, sun block, mosquito repellent, headlamp, hiking poles, water bottle, sunglasses.
